Helpful Vocabulary

“NWT”

the item is “New With Tags” or in other words, it still has its retail tags attached, and is still being carried in stores.

“Deadstock”

the item still has its original retail tags, but is discontinued from the retailers’ line. (These items are often vintage).

“Single Stitch”

the garment was constructed using single stitch sewing rather than the overlocking stitch method. This most often indicates the garment was made before 1999, and is therefore vintage. Single stitch indicators are on the hems of garments.

“Vintage”

the garment was made 20 years ago or earlier.
